About me

My name is Valeria Sign, and I paint at the intersection of abstraction, futurism, and hi-tech aesthetics.

My path as an artist has been shaped by change. I began one painting before my life shifted dramatically — before three years of emigration reshaped the way I see distance, permanence, and home. I returned to my native country to finish that piece, carrying with it everything I had learned along the way. It became the work that defined how I paint today.

I'm drawn to contrast: the matte and the glossy, the transparent and the opaque, the still and the shifting. I build my paintings with mixed media — acrylics, textured paste, epoxy resin, metallic and mirror-effect materials — so each work changes with the light and the angle it's viewed from. No two viewings are quite the same.

I don't make paintings to raise alarm or to comment on the moment. I make them to offer the opposite: a pause. A surface for the eye to rest on, so that something quieter and deeper has room to surface.

Today I create both gallery-ready original works and bespoke commissions — pieces built specifically for a space, a palette, a mood. When a room needs one particular piece to feel complete, that's the work I enjoy most.
